Hi, I'm Alldan. I've been teaching Chemistry and Physics since late 2023 for Sec 3 to Sec 5 students, in group classes and 1-to-1 lessons.
Honestly, it started pretty casually. Back in Sec 4, I was gathering my schoolmates every weekend at my place to go through Chemistry and Physics together. No whiteboard, no fancy setup, just us at the table figuring things out. By the time the exams came around, everyone walked away with a B3 or better. That was the moment I realised I actually enjoyed this.
I graduated from ACS (Barker Road) and ACJC, achieving A grades in both Chemistry and Physics at the O and A Levels, and was awarded the Lee Hah Ing Scholarship (2020) and Goh Hood Keng Scholarship (2021) along the way.
I started teaching because I genuinely enjoy it. Watching a student go from dreading a subject to walking into an exam with real confidence is what keeps me going. Over 2.5 years of teaching, I've built a good sense of where students get stuck, what the examiners are actually looking for, and how to close the gap between the two.
My lessons are structured, syllabus-aligned, and built around each student's school curriculum so there's no guesswork about what's coming up or what level of depth is expected. Every session is focused on concept clarity, precise answering techniques, and recognising question patterns before the exam.
I see myself as a coach, not just a teacher. Beyond lessons, I provide prompt out-of-class guidance and complimentary Zoom consultations when needed, particularly during key exam periods when students need that extra support most.
Pure Chemistry, Pure Physics, and Combined Science. All following the MOE syllabus.
scored A1 in their sciences this year. One A2. One C5.
I've worked with 30+ students since I started teaching, with some going from F9 to A1 within a single year.
All sessions are paid from the first lesson. There are no free trials.
Group classes run on a fixed weekly schedule. For private and online sessions, WhatsApp me and we'll find a time that works.
My Physics improved from F9 to A1 and my Chemistry improved from C6 to A1. My understanding of concepts and exam questions improved significantly. Teacher Alldan is patient, explains concepts clearly, and provides worksheets that expose students to a wide variety of exam-style questions.
Alldan was not a normal tutor. He made sure I truly understood the concepts instead of simply memorising them. He was patient, always willing to spend extra time helping whenever I struggled, and constantly motivated me to improve. Before meeting Alldan, I was struggling to pass my sciences as I could barely understand them — but thanks to him I managed to do extremely well.
I improved from an A2 overall to a high A1 of 90% and didn't feel like I misunderstood anything within the exam — only losing marks due to carelessness or things I genuinely didn't know. My Chemistry was the one that improved the most, going from a C5 to an A1 within two months if not less. What helped me most during lessons was the constant drilling of questions and check-ups in between each explanation. Although Alldan is a strict teacher, he will truly push his students to the best of their abilities.
Alldan has been a very good teacher from the start. Even when I was struggling at first, he still tried to explain everything I couldn't understand in detail. He makes his own notes and also asks for extra lessons if needed. My grades went from a D7 to consistent A1s in only about a year. He also cares a lot about his students' health, even coming back to my house when I felt sick during one of his lessons. I could not have asked for a better teacher. 5 big stars.
I was a Secondary 4 NA student at ACS (BR) in Singapore. About six months before my N Levels, I joined Katalyst Education under Mr Alldan, and honestly, it made a huge difference in my results. Before joining, I had been struggling a lot with my sciences. For almost a year, I was constantly failing Chemistry, sometimes even getting 0, and my Physics was barely passing. I didn't really have confidence in these subjects. After attending his tuition classes, everything started to improve. By the time I took my N Levels, I managed to score an A2 (around 70–75 marks) for both Chemistry and Physics — something I never thought I could achieve. What made his classes stand out wasn't just the results, but also the environment. Lessons were always very engaging and fun, especially since I was learning together with my friends. He gave us enough freedom and breaks, so lessons never felt stressful or overwhelming. At the same time, he was very patient and adjusted his teaching pace according to us, making sure we truly understood the concepts. Overall, I'm really grateful for the support and guidance. His teaching not only helped improve my grades but also changed my attitude towards studying Science.
Mr Alldan, who has only been tutoring me for merely 3 months, has helped me see significant improvement in my Science subjects. He provides many useful resources such as notes that help me understand and visualise concepts, while always being understanding and supportive. This makes him a good tutor.
